Come, let us sing to the LORD ! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

– Psalm 95:1

Patrick Raharijaona – gentle man of faith, wonderful pianist, devoted father and husband, and dedicated member of the Church Council at Saint Luke’s Fontainebleau, reports the following:

“I have been asked by Fray Gerard from the Couvent des Carmes to let you know that they are organising an Italian music concert this coming Sunday. Fray Gerard is the representative from the Couvent des Carmes when we attend ecumenical  services in Fontainebleau.”

What a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our faith in Christ with other Christians in the Fontainebleau area. Here is the letter from Fray Gerard, translated from French to English:

Dear Patrick

I thought I would send you this flyer for a “spiritual concert” entitled “Songs and Rituals of the Passion of Southern Italy and Elsewhere”. I am in connection with these three artists and working to have the entire group come next spring. Of course I use the word “concert” but it’s much more than that. It is an occasion to get to know and feel the spiritual vibrations that color the Passion of the Christ and the Resurrection – the heart of the Christian faith. These are songs and rites found in popular manifestations during Holy Week (especially in Southern Italy – Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, Andalusia, etc.) and which are surely present in other forms in the Anglican Tradition (in Great Britian, Madagascar, and other parts of the world). Hopefully you can find a way to share this flyer with people interested in this type of event. I thank you in advance for any help you can give distributing this information. My friendship and fraternal communion in Lord Jesus, Brother Gerard-Marie
